Clayton Scott continues to grow and expand as an artist. This award-winning Poet Laureate of Fayetteville is gaining national acclaim as a performance poet and has long been a highly-sought presence in public schools throughout Arkansas as he canvasses the state teaching, talking about, and performing poetry. Clayton’s latest endeavor is a one-man play titled “Down in Littletown.”

Down in Littletown

If poetry is ever to retake it’s high position in the hearts of Americans, it will be works like Clayton Scott’s Down in Littletown that bring it about. Clayton’s play of poems is as accessible
as a newspaper, and as rich and moving as your favorite song. It cuts to the heart.

— Dr. Roger Gross, Prof. of Drama and Head,
MFA Program in Playwriting University of Arkansas

A blend of play and poetry, the approach is fresh and unique. Where a musical uses songs to tell part of the story, “Littletown” uses poetry. The show has already achieved “hit” status, playing to sellout crowds everywhere it has appeared so far. Now road-ready and truly perfected, “Down in Littletown” would be ideal for your town:–local festivals, and regular community theater performances. Entertaining and poignant, “Littletown” is guaranteed to spark the memories and imagination of its audience and will fuel the catharsis of laughter and tears that only excellent live theater can ignite. Book this truly remarkable play before it goes national. It’s that good. Suitable for audiences sixteen and older. And here’s some good news to make an Arkansas based presenter’s budget happy–because Clayton is on the Arkansas Arts On Tour Roster, you can apply for a grant to offset his fee by 40%!!!
